According to the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary it is Prophet Elijah's mountain. At the top of the mountain there is a cave in which, according to legend, Prophet Elijah hid from persecution. One of the legends says that Prophet Khyzyr (the teacher of Prophet Moses) struck the Water of immortality here. Since the beginning of time numerous pilgrims have been rushing to the top of the Jurassic mountain. On the slope of the mountain there are the walls of an ancient fortress (the V - VII centuries). The fortress was a part of the defensive wall system (like the Great Wall of Chine), which stretched across the entire coastal plain to the mountains. A magnificent view of the vicinity will leave an unforgettable impression.
